چکیده

Abstract Understanding the effects of high- and low-fiber diets on growth performance pigs with different feed efficiencies will help livestock industry develop new strategies to reduce costs pig production. In this study, 18 Landrace × Large White sows high low estimated breeding value conversion ratio (EBV-FCR) were inseminated semen from known EBV-FCR produce 9 litters efficiency pigs. A total 94 growing or fed a (3% crude fiber) high-fiber (6% content diet in 2 factorial arrangement for 70 days. Pigs presented higher body weight (BW) day (P < 0.05). High lower average daily intake (ADFI) (FCR) than 0 (P< There was an interaction between fiber group gain (ADG;P 0.05) FCR 35. Low showed lowest ADG Regardless groups, 42 These results suggest that can present ADFI without reducing final BW ADG. Feeding increase later stages experiment.

Effect of thymol and carvacrol on nutrient digestibility in rams fed high or low concentrate diets

Published data on the effects of essential oils (EO) on in vivo nutrient digestibility in sheep are contradictory. In 2 experiments, the effect of thymol and carvacrol on nutrient digestibility was studied in sheep fed with high (70%) or low (52%) concentrate diets, using incomplete Latin Square designs. The essential oils were mixed with the concentrate portion of the diet at the rate of 0.0, ...

Effect of Dietary Crude Protein Level on UT-B Expression and Nitrogen Efficiency in Growing Baluchi Male Lambs Fed Low or High Concentrate Diets

An experiment was carried out to evaluate how interactions between forage to concentrate ratio and dietary crude protein level may alter nitrogen efficiency and UT-B expression in growing Baluchi male lambs. Four Baluchi male lambs [30 ± 2 kg BW] were used in a 4 × 4 latin square design with 28-d periods and a 2 × 2 factorial arrangement of dietary treatments. The treatments fed forage: concent...

Composition and quality characteristics of carcasses from pigs divergently selected for residual feed intake on high- or low-energy diets.

The objective was to determine the extent to which feeding low-energy, high-fiber (LEHF) and high-energy, low-fiber (HELF) diets impacts meat quality and carcass composition of pigs divergently selected for residual feed intake (RFI). Two experiments were conducted in the divergently selected Iowa State University RFI lines: Exp. 1 evaluated carcasses of generation (G) 8 pigs fed on commercial ...

Added Dietary Fat Improves Growth Performance and Feed Efficiency in Growing-finishing Pigs under Commercial Conditions

A total of 480 pigs was used in an experiment conducted in a commercial research facility to determine the influence of fat additions to the growing-finishing diet on pig performance and carcass composition. Adding fat to the diet from 80 to 265 lb increased ADG and F/G by 1 and 2%, respectively, for each 1% added fat. The growth response was greatest during the initial phase of the trial (80 t...

Effect of dietary fiber or fat in low-crude protein, crystalline amino acid-supplemented diets for finishing pigs.

Three experiments were conducted to determine the effect of reducing NE, by adding dietary fiber in Exp. 1 and 2 and decreasing dietary fat in Exp. 3, of low-CP, crystalline amino acid (CAA)-supplemented diets for finishing pigs on growth performance and carcass characteristics. In Exp. 1 and 2, 64 barrows (Exp. 1) or gilts (Exp. 2) were allotted to four treatments with four replicates of four ...
